El mito del origen del hombre y los ciclos del tiempo

En lo que hoy son las selvas tropicales de Guatemala y Honduras floreció una de las grandes antiguas civilizaciones de las Américas. Los llamamos Maya y hace 1000 años ya dominaban la península del Yucatán con imponentes ciudades de piedra. Las cimas de sus pirámides escaladas, completamente revestidas con esculturas y colores brillantes, emergían por encima de las copas de los árboles, anunciando su presencia a través de largas distancias.
