Syntax (Word Order)

Ceci: ¡El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido! ¡El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido!
Rylan: ¡Yo conozco ese canto!… “The people, united, will never be defeated!”… Es un canto muy conocido. Lo usan siempre en las marchas de protesta en Latinoamérica. Ceci, ¿hoy vamos a protestar?
Ceci: No, Rylan, aunque en estos días seguramente podemos encontrar algo para protestar, hoy quiero celebrar la rica tradición de la canción de protesta en América Latina.
Rylan: A rich history indeed! Whenever people exercise their democratic right – no duty – to protest, loud songs and chants will be heard.
Ceci: Desde el movimiento de estudiantes en México en 1968, hasta las marchas contra Maduro en Venezuela en 2017. Y miles, miles de otras protestas.
Rylan: Es perfecto para nuestro tema gramatical, porque esos cantos llaman a la acción… These chants are calls to action! So we will definitely use many subjects, objects and, of course, verbs.
