Irregular & Go-Verbs (Present)

I. Intro

In this lesson, we’re going to build upon your knowledge of irregular verbs and also stem-changing verbs. Remember that Spanish verbs can be divided into several categories based on their regularity:
  • Regular verbs (hablar, comer, vivir)
  • Stem-changing verbs (costar, entender, pedir)
  • Completely irregular verbs (ser, estar, ir, dar)
  • Verbs with irregular yo forms (caber, saber)
    • Go-verbs (hacer, poner)
    • Stem-changing go-verbs (tener, decir)
We are now going to attack type 4 - verbs with irregular yo forms. As you can see, there are actually 3 categories in type 4. Let’s focus only on the present tense for the purposes of this lesson.
